Authorities issued urgent warnings, cautioning inhabitants to steer clear of their homes, fearing the looming threat of further seismic upheavals.
The confirmed death toll stood at 55 in Ishikawa, with reports indicating an additional 16 individuals critically injured. The magnitude of damage inflicted upon homes was so extensive that an immediate assessment remained an arduous task for officials grappling with the aftermath.
